Our Wedding

9-16-06

The wedding was a huge success!  Here are my abbreviated, yet thoughtful reviews of our vendors.  NO ONE will get +++++'s simply because my mind just can't process that!

Ceremony: Hanna Garden at The Western Reserve Historical Society A

I highly recommend working with Terri Paoletta at WRHS.  She and the staff were so helpful.  There was a volunteer there the night before (rehearsal night) manicuring the gardens so they looked perfect.  I simply can not say enough how hands off, yet helpful the folks at WRHS were.

Reception: The Crawford Auto and Avaition Museum at The Western Reserve Historical Society Caterer: A Taste of Excellence.  A+

I met with Joe Paoletta and Linda Stacks (both from A Taste of Excellence) the Wednesday before the event to drop off all my boose and DIY projects and go over how I wanted the museum set up.  I knew from the moment I left it all in there hands that they would make the place beautiful... and they did.  Every detail from the mailbox for our cards to the food (that people are STILL raving about) was out of this world.  I tool a look around before anyone was allowed in and was, literally, in tears.  These people made all my ideas look fantastic.  This was, without a doubt, the biggest part of my budget.  I would not lie about this... but I would have paid double what I did for the amazing menu and service!

Photographer: Everlasting Moments, Marci Allin

Cake: The Boarding House in Massillon A

Great taste at a fraction of the price.  Cake was not really important to us, so, for around $250 with the returnable cake stand rental included, I think I got a great deal.

Officiant: Daniel Budd B+

Don't get me wrong, everything was just as we asked for it to be, but the Rev showed up just a little "too close for comfort" for my liking.  He was, however, incredibly professional, and audible, which was extreemly important in our outdoor setting.  When all was said and done the ceremony was quick, and just as we had asked!

Flowers, SAM'S club - Georgette Nichols D-

What a fiasco.  But I guess that's what you get when you are not willing to spend a fortune on flowers.  Pretty much everything about my order was wrong.  There were no boutineers, no mothers or grandmothers corsages and 2 extra bridesmaids boquets.  At the end of the day, though, I was still married, and flowers were, just not that important

Transportation, Will's Wheels A+

Ok, here's the thing... Will doesn't advertise, and runs an almost top secret opperation.  Initially I was very nervous about using him.  We needed transportation for up to 60 people (to and fro the ceremony and reception), transportation for all the guys from our suite at the Key Center, and transportation for Dan and me at the end of the night.  Will's crew was out of this world.  No one was left without a ride.  They ran transportation for longer than we had requested.  Dan got a private town car, with his best man, to the ceremony... and we got a private town car back to our hotel (different than our guests hotel).  Will met us the next day to run the credit card and then drove us to our vehicle (still at WRHS).  His service and professionalism was outstanding!  If you want his information, please page me and drop our name.  I told him I would be singing his praises!

Our "engagement" photos

The ring that started it all. It was his grand ma's. This is what it looked like as he proposed, before we had it reset. The old setting, although very cool, was somewhat comprimised!

My ring.

My ring with the band. 2mm and simple. We struggled with this for a LONG time!

Dan's ring.

Our STD magnets

And the cards I made, with hotel information, to go with them. We sent these out around December 2005.

My dress. Not initially what I thought I wanted, but I fell in LOVE with it when I tried it on!

My crinoline... I LOVE IT! One bottle of scarlet RIT dye and it was good to go!

What I think I want to do with the bustle. I love the dress but the sash sure is making life difficult!

What my bustle is to look like. Not sure if I love it, but it will do!

This is the flower girl dress... i think she's going to look like a "mini me"

Our super cute flower girl

I adore this sign... and must have it!

Our adorable ring bearer

The dress my mom decided on! It looks great on her.

I am obsessed with this picture, so I bought hoodies and had them embroidered for all my girls

My friend Michelle did a great job on these. If anyone is interested in her handy work, page me. She owns Northern Images (locally) and her work is great!

My Mrs. _________ Jacket!

The Hanna Garden, at the Western Reserve Historical Society is where our ceremony will take place!

We're going with cupcakes instead of a traditional cake.

We are doing OOT gift boxes for our guests.

Black sock packets I made for Dan's groomsmen... just in case!

Some of you may remember me asking about this... I gave Dan a pair of socks every day for the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding, all tied up with this card attached. He LOVED it.
